Vision impaired elderly sometimes encounter trouble and difficulty in communicating even if their hearing is keen. This is because communication is not only through listening; it’s also observing gestures and body languages which sometimes connote different meaning. Other times elders are more prone to arguments if they don’t understand what cues do the words meant. There are some conversation that need to be said in gestures especially those complicated ones. Caring for the elderly incorporates respect and understanding. As elderly caregiver, you should prove them with adequate assistance without making them feel degraded since they have vision impaired. So how do we communicate people with failing eyesight so as not to mean something offensive and to make it easier for them to communicate?
